I hope this note reaches someone in Mr. Smoot’s family. I am sad to see that he passed away last year. Mr. Smoot allowed my husband and me to visit him in his home one day in the fall of 2020. I lived in that home as a child, and my father helped build the home. Mr. Smoot graciously showed us around the home, and much of it was just as my parents had left it in 1975. It was always a dream of mine to revisit this home where so many of my happy childhood memories were made. Thanks to Mr. Smoot, that dream was realized, and I will never forget that day.
