William Barber "Bobby" Slaughter's Obituary
William Barber “Bobby” Slaughter, 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Bobby (as he was known by family and friends) was born August 11, 1936 to the late Tilden H. Slaughter and Blanche Nelson Slaughter.
Bobby was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon board. He was a past member of Salem Ruritan Club and past employee of Rappahannock Rapidan Community Service Board as a transit driver where he cared for seniors and special clients. Bobby enjoyed playing golf with Darrell, Pat, Chester and Sallie and loved to travel with Sallie on cruises.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Sallie Ferris Slaughter; one son, Patrick M. Slaughter; one daughter, Frances S. Jackson; two brothers, Chester M. Slaughter and David A. Slaughter; three sisters, MaryLou Holliday, Sylvia J. Ford (Thomas), and Theresa K. Slaughter; and three grandchildren, Seth A. Jackson, Cameron M. Jackson, and Victoria E. Slaughter.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West St., Culpeper, VA with a time for viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
