Boston, Va lost an icon on Thursday - Bill Burke. He was a good friend to my parents and to me. As my parents aged at home, Bill would stop by every morning with the newspaper to check in and see if all was well. When a project needed to get done, you called Bill. I want to remember Bill with a chain saw in one hand and a weed eater in the other headed to the next job ( and maybe a cold beer ). May you rest in piece Bill. You deserve it. My condolences to Betty and the rest of the family.

Bill Burke was a good man! He was always willing to give a helping hand when someone had a need. He was a man's man but had a loving heart. I saw him shed tears for my mom when she was ill. Thankfully she recovered and Bill, along with my family and neighbors, were able to have many years of good food around the table and fellowship with each other. Sometimes we fail to tell folks that we love and appreciate them. However, that was not the case with Bill. He did so much through the years to help my parents and many others that I told him over and over how much I appreciated him and that he had made a difference in many lives. We regard Bill as family. He will always be remembered and his presence missed.
