Whitey Jett, Jr.
Hugh Whitey Jett, Jr., 83, of Fredericksburg passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Jett worked for Hilldrup as a truck driver and retired after 40 years. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII. Hugh was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his dogs, Scooby and Corky.
He was the son of the late Hugh and Leona Jett and was preceded in death by his son Wayne Jett.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kay Jett; two daughters, Jackie Godley of Caroline County, and Linda Tolbert and her husband, Don of Orange County; two sons, Dean Cook of Spotsylvania, and Lewis Jett and his wife, Pat of New Hampshire; his sister, Katie Wright of Spotsylvania; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 24, 2008 at 3:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Paul Harfst officiating.
