To Wanda's Family,
We all grow too old fast and lose touch with dear friends, while we raise families and build careers.
I have made many friends in my 57 years, but Wanda's friendship was special. We met at Kessler AFB in Biloxi, MS while stationed there for tech school in 1973-74. we spent many nights walking around the base just talking about what each of us wanted out of life. The day we got our permanent duty orders we both laughed at the irony, she stood at 5'2" and was going to the Phillipines to work on one of the biggest aircraft in the USAF at the time and I at 6' tall was going to upstate New York to work on some of the smallest. We exchanged emails several times afterword but grew apart. When the internet first started i would search for her having no idea that she had made a career out of the Air Force.
I hope she did not suffer during her illness. I know that Jesus was there to welcome her home, with open arms.
She was a very dear and special person in my life at a time when we both were out of our comfort zones. I will remember our talks and the night we said good-bye, forever.
I am sorry for your loss and can only hope to see her again in heaven.
Warmest regards,
Joe Gilmore
