I worked with Tom in the Army, we were Drug Suppression Team Partners, then later as cohorts as plain clothes investigators of general crime. There is a bond between cops, and undercover cops have a tighter bond than normal. I literally placed my life in his hands, and vice versa. Our young families were together when we not on duty, and those times molded us all. I did not see Tom for years after our assignment together, but kept in touch, as Army buddies do, with an occasional phone call, we always think we will see each other again, someday, soon. Tom, here's to us, and those like us, damn few left.
