Susan Michelle Childress' Obituary
Susan Michelle Childress, 51, of Amissville passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Novant Health UVA Health Systems Culpeper Medical Center. She was born June 21, 1969 to Virgil Atkins and the late Rebecca June Horn.
Susan was a member of Apostolic Faith Church in Gainesville, VA for 17 years. She was the matriarch of The Childress Clan, and fulfilled her roll as an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She was a light to anyone she met and opened her home and heart to anyone in need.
Susan is survived by her husband of 22 years, Bryan Childress; children, Derek “Eli” Atkins, Rebecca “Becky” Atkins, Alexander Childress, Duncan Childress, Gareth Childress, and Elias Childress; her father, Virgil Atkins; four siblings, Dan, Polly, Vallerie, and Ernest (Abe); and grandchildren, Brynn, Isabella, Allie, Aaron, and Chloe.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 7, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. Due to COVID-19 mandates, masks are required to enter the building.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sam Chamberlain and Pastor Justin Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Jeffersonton, VA.
