When I was a scrawny and insignificant Freshman at Rappahannock High, Strother was my hero. He was such a superb athlete and so popular with the other students, I wished I could be just like him. In later years I discovered he was not only a great athlete but a wonderful human being as well. I will miss him. John Browning
