Stanley Leroy Harrison's Obituary
Stanley L. Harrison, 64, of Spotsylvania County, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2010, after a long courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
Stan was born in Alexandria, Virginia on June 16, 1945 and grew up in Fort Hunt. He loved fishing, NASCAR, and was a talented musician and singer. Over the years his passion turned to the Lord. He shared the Good News with numerous customers and friends at the Video Club where he worked for 17 years. He was a lifetime member of the Fredericksburg Moose Lodge #1655.
Stan spent the last few years living at The Pines in Spotsylvania where he was the Light of Christ to his friends and neighbors. His outpouring of love and kindness to those in need will be long remembered.
Survivors include his children, Marianna and Timothy Harrison of Roanoke, Virginia, and Jeffrey Harrison of North Carolina; his brothers, Bill Harrison of South Carolina and Joseph and Allen Braden of Spotsylvania; his sisters, Virginia Sexton of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brenda Braden of Spotsylvania; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Stan was preceded in death by his mother, Myera Braden, his father, George Harrison, and his brother, Alvin Braden.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Zion United Methodist Church, 8700 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia with the Reverend Barbara M. Jacobs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 8001 Franklin Farms Dr., Suite 139, Richmond, Virginia 23229.
