Roy Ellis Cornwell's Obituary
Roy Ellis Cornwell, 68, of Culpeper, VA died Thursday, May 13, 2021 at his home. He was born August 10, 1952 in Alexandria, VA to the late Iden and Ruth Cornwell.
Roy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Deronda Cornwell; two nieces, Jessica Chapman and Leah Cornwell; and numerous additional family members, co-workers and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Iden Cornwell, Jr.
Roy loved his four poodles, Pepper, Sam, Rex and Tiny Tim. He enjoyed flying and going on cruises when we could. He had a great joy for singing, so he tried out for the shows The Voice and The X Factor.
Roy worked with the Department of the Army at Fort Belvoir and Cameron Station for 38 years. He worked for two real estate offices in Fredericksburg: ReMax Allegiance for 9 years and CTI Real Estate for 10 years. Additionally he worked for The Chimney Sweep for 23 years.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Massaponax Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, VA.
