Dr. Rosalia Marie Lomeo's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the family of Dr. Rosalia Lomeo share her passing on October 21, 2024.
Dr. Lomeo was born on October 13, 1957 in Pittsburgh to James Eugene Lomeo and Tina Elaine Lomeo. She is a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College and Drexel University School of Medicine. She and her husband founded the Arthritis Center, which proudly served the Fredericksburg area for many years. Her patients quickly became her friends and extended family. Her boundless energy and devotion did not stop after she left the office, as she was also a beloved mother to three wonderful sons. She enjoyed gardening, hiking, and piano.
Lia will be dearly missed by her husband, Edward Katz; her children, Michael Katz (Hannah), David Katz, and Daniel Katz (Juliana); grandchildren, Sophia and Ethan; brothers, Paul Lomeo and Joe Lomeo (Patty); and many nieces and nephews.
Lia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mark Lomeo.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in her memory to The Arthritis Foundation (arthritis.org) or The American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
