Rodger Lee Christian's Obituary
Rodger Lee Christian, 66, of Culpeper, died Monday, May 31, 2021 at Novant Health Systems UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born December 2, 1954 in Burnsville, NC to the late Troy and Mildred Christian.
Rodger was most recently employed at Avaya as an implementation manager. He was retired from the army, having served during the cold war. Rodger was full of pride for his country and loved his animals, but especially enjoyed his time with his grandkids. He was affectionately known to everyone as “Paw Paw”. Cut from a different cloth, he would do anything for anyone, and treated everyone like one of his own.
Rodger is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Christian; a daughter, Jennifer Scott (Norman); a son, Steven Christian; one sister, Rebecca Schmidt (Bill); and four grandchildren, Brooke Scott, Colin Christian, Katie Scott and Cooper Scott.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rodger’s name to the Culpeper County Animal Shelter, 10144 James Monroe Hwy, Culpeper, VA 22701.
