Lynne S
I'm so sorry to hear of Rodger's passing.
He truly was the person who would take care of everyone like they were his own - he was kind to newbies but took great delight in small pranks, and always had a smile or a joke to share.
He reached hero status, though, when he helped with our move from Berlin out to Helmstedt - he volunteered (or, more likely, allowed himself to be talked into) driving a truckload of stuff two hours each way through the corridor, and helping with the load/unload. This effort including lugging a zillion-pound box of books down the stairs from the second floor - I had 'efficiently' packed all of my books in a kitchen 'barrel' and it must have weighed 100lbs! Lots of moves since then, and I think of him every time I pack a (much smaller) box of books.
My sincere condolences to the Christian family on your great loss.
Lynne Snyder (formerly Steppling)
