Robert A. Stohlman's Obituary
Robert A. Stohlman, 65, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. He was born August 26, 1956 to the late Morris M. Stohlman, Sr. and Alcidie Nunez Stohlman in New Orleans, LA.
Robert was a member and past Master of the Fairfax Lodge No. 43 A.F. & A.M. Robert became a licensed amateur radio operator in 1971 and was with the Culpeper Amateur Radio Association; CARA. His radio call sign was K4RCG. He served with the US Coast Guard for 22 years until his retirement as Captain. Robert was a Legion of Merit recipient along with many other medals of distinction.
Robert is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debra Thompson Stohlman; daughter, Rebecca Stohlman Winn and her husband, Thomas, grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Winn and Emma Elizabeth Winn, and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Morris M. Stohlman, Jr.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 1, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701
A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 12 p.m. with Rev. Anne West officiating. The Masonic Rights will be performed during the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, New Section, 501 Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s name to Greene County EMS at P.O. Box 358, Stanardsville, VA 22973.
