Robert Douglas Pfile's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Douglas Pfile, 82, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away at his home on Friday, January 16, 2026.
He was born on July 25, 1943 in Warren, Ohio. Bob married Shirley Kline and they spent many years traveling together creating homes in Puerto Rico, Missouri, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, and Iowa before settling in Fredericksburg to be near their granddaughters.
Bob was a proud Air Force Veteran who served his country well for over 22 years. Bob enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, playing the dulcimer, music, and reading. He was fascinated with the Civil War and the life and history of King Richard III.
He was a loving father and grandfather. His greatest joy in life was becoming a grandfather. He always looked forward to spending time with his granddaughters.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Tamara Pfile-Stohr; son-in-law, Eric Stohr; three granddaughters, Suzanna, Alexandra, and Madeleine Stohr; younger brother, Richard Pfile; and loving girlfriend, Lynn Rubini.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Roberta Pfile; and his older brother, Rolland Pfile.
An inurnment will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026 in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Bob was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
