I first met Bob when he used to often walk by my house while I was gardening outside. He was so pleasant & always left me smiling. I came to know him better while visiting or transporting him, through Celebrate Helping Hands. Talking with him was so enjoyable as he shared many memories of his full life. He also taught me more about history & traveling/culture, especially Japan & Ireland. He had a nice sense of humor. Little Girl was always around, ready for petting & loving. He expressed being "ready for the next chapter", but I miss him.

Bob was one of the first Celebrate residents to welcome us to the community in 2015 and we had been friends ever since enjoying our shared love for Ireland (Bob's seven trips). Knowing Bob has been a gift for us and helping Bob over the last several years was not a duty but a pleasure! Bob, may you rest in peace with Dot.

I shared some time with Bob over the last few years. He was such a dear man. I took him shopping a Giant a number of times. He was quite a driver when operating the motorized shopping cart. During our visits I learned of his meeting Dot.. His devotion to her was so strong. He will be missed.

I met Bob about a year and a half ago when we purchased the house across the street from him. Bob helped me a lot in my first weeks by offering up his driveway and trash can when mine were too full. Many times I heard his stories as we shared a drink while listening to Irish music or sat in the shade of his garage watching the sun set. His favorite story was how he met Dottie, what a love story! I took him to Quantico once as we visited the cemetery and he taught me shortcuts on the way home. He loved kids, and I brought my grandchildren over whenever possible, and he frequently asked me about the little blondie and especially the redhead. He taught me a bit about bridge but I'm still a beginner. He and my mother-in-law Amy used to walk together around the track at the lodge, at roughly the same pace. I'll miss him greatly, but will remember him fondly as a great neighbor and friend. Dave Lyon
