Rita Kay Smith's Obituary
Rita Kay Smith, 69, of Spotsylvania County, reunited in heaven with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
Rita was born in Iaeger, West Virginia, to Harvey and Eva Warwick. She attended Stafford Senior High School and graduated with honors from Bluefield College. Rita worked for the Naval Service Warfare Center (NSWC) for more than 30 years.
She was a lifetime member of Fredericksburg Rescue Squad.
Rita is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Eugene Smith; her daughter, Candi Garner (Brandon); her stepson, Jeff Smith (Melissa); brother, Ray Warwick (Betty Jo); grandchildren, Aaron Hilliard, Kari Garner, and Kaitlin Smith, her sisters-in-law, Laura Lloyd, Patty Barnes, Phyllis Snow and Linda Spradlin, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Willis, and brother, Terry Warwick.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 31, 2024 in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
