A survey of the damage wedge of the Pentagon a few days after the 911 was my first working with Richard. Our boss rushed for an oversized mask to fit him due to his long beard. After receiving the protective gear, he bravely cautioned and led the team through the dark smoked wedge to complete a dangerous assessment. A few years later, we teamed up to build the telecommunications infrastructure at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston. We met in the office one day to go over the project, and I recall he told me, "I am a tough man" to work with, and I kept it in mind. A few months later, I met him on the project site for a site survey, and he kindly educated me on the site conditions in a brilliant way that would improve future design, cost estimate, and construction coordination. The successful completion of the highly seismic and complex project was rooted in good spirit and teamwork in collaboration with technical and practical skills.
I prayed and asked God to comfort each family member with great compassion and love while you are grieving the loss. May God's peace and grace be with you. Jesus loves and cares for you.
