Regis John Kirby's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad, Brother, Cousin, Grandfather/Doo, “Beloved Best Buddies - Outlaws”, Uncle, and Friend, Regis John Kirby, 70, passed away on July 5, 2025.
Regis worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for over 35 years. Regis was a friend to many. A stranger was never a stranger for very long when meeting Regis. He was a family man and his legacy lives on in our hearts.
Regis is survived by his wife Kaye. Regis and Kaye were married for over 44 years. Meeting at the FBI they became good friends first and later began dating for over five years before marrying. Regis leaves behind their daughter, Jackie Rainey and her husband, Brian Rainey; and their two children, Kaelynn and Jase, who are the biggest joys of Regis’s life.
Regis also leaves behind his sisters, Donna Zupko (Bob) and Kathy Richard; as well as his cousin, Cynthia Lease. He had many favorite nieces and nephews that can tell several stories of why they are the FAVORITE!
Regis also leaves behind Beloved Best Buddies – bonus family members – “Best Buddies Outlaws” – David and Cindy Orso, Linda and Tommy Oliver, Brian and Rene Orso and Tim and Marilynn Orso. Regis loved them and spent time with them and they were a big part of his life.
Regis had an endearing way to make each one of us feel special. We are BLESSED to have Regis as a friend.
Regis's passing leaves a space in each of our hearts that will never be filled on Earth but his family looks forward to seeing him again in Heaven.
There will be a mass at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle VA 22172. Following the mass, a Celebration of Life for Regis will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Barley Naked Brewery, 15 Tech Pkwy, Stafford VA 22556.
