Ray A. Weakley, Sr.'s Obituary
Ray A. Weakley, Sr., 70, of Culpeper was called away too soon on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He was born March 12, 1942 to Virginia Jenkins Winn and the late Carroll Weakley.
Mr. Weakley was a resident of this area all his life having moved to Culpeper after living in Fauquier from 1972 to 1995. He loved horse racing, playing cards and shooting pool and was known by many in the area as a pool shark. He will be remembered as a hard worker from many of his customers of over 50 years. He was a practical joker and if he pulled a prank on you it was because he liked you. He loved his time spent with his family especially his grandchildren who he loved very much. He will be missed greatly by those who knew him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Glenda Hawkins and Ray Weakley, Jr., both of Bealeton; his ex-wife, Yvonne Weakley of Bealeton; two grandchildren, Garland Collins and Joseph Hawkins, both of Bealeton; two great grandchildren, Brooke Collins and Ashton Collins, both of Louisa; one sister, Nancy Renshaw of Culpeper; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his baby sister; and one granddaughter, Ashley Hawkins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jeff Light officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Stover, Ray Weakley, Jr., Joseph Hawkins, Garland Collins and Ralph Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the family c/o Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
