My grandfather was more than just family,he was my favorite human in the world. He had a way of making everything feel safe, warm, and meaningful just by being there. His kindness, his wisdom, and the quiet strength he carried shaped so much of who I am today.
Some of my most treasured memories are the ones we shared together traveling across the country to visit his home state of Louisiana, seeing where he came from, and understanding him in a deeper way. I spent so many summers with him, sitting side by side, listening to old music and hearing stories about his life growing up. Those moments didn’t feel extraordinary at the time, but now they mean everything to me.
He had a way of making you feel heard and cared for, without needing grand gestures. Just being with him was enough. He showed me what it means to be a good person through the way he lived, loved, and treated others.
Losing him leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but I know his love doesn’t leave with him. It lives on in the memories we made, in the stories he shared, and in the person I am because of him.
I will carry him with me always. And I will forever be grateful that I got to call him mine. I love forever and always Pappy! I’ll always be your favorite little pissant😉 The world simply won’t be the same for me without you in it. Xoxoxo
