Pat Hembey Watson's Obituary
Pat Watson passed away peacefully on January 26, 2022 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Glenda Ann Watson. He is also survived by his sister in law Judy Watson and her sons Patrick, Daniel and Joseph; brother in law Bill Kibler and his wife Ann and children Kirk, Kelly and Allison.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents Joe Watson and mother Marie Hembey Watson Essary. Also preceded in death by his brother Joe Nelson Watson.
Pat was born June 26, 1941 in Shreveport, La. The family moved to Dallas and Pat graduated from Sunset High School in 1959. While he was at Sunset he met his future wife Glenda Ann Kibler. They dated throughout high school and married in 1962.
Pat graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. Upon graduation from college Pat joined the Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged July 22, 1971. While in the Marine Corp. he received the National Defense Service Medal. Pat worked for IBM. While with them he and Glenda Ann traveled extensively throughout Europe and made many wonderful memories.
Pat was a devoted loving husband, beloved brother in law, uncle and cherished friend. Pat was incredibly kind with the utmost integrity in all aspects of his life. He was a Bible scholar and loved reading and studying the Bible. He was dearly loved by his family and many friends and will be missed more than words can say.
The family would like to especially thank Charity Sillero and his wife Violet of Jackson House Assisted Living, Boston, VA for their care and compassion for Pat during his illness. Also we would like to thank his Pastor, Steve Harrelson of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and Pat’s caring neighbors Steve and Wendy Lee and James Jenkins. The care, concern and many prayers from Pastor Harrelson and neighbors were felt by Pat and the entire family.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be at Culpeper National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022 with Pastor Steve Harrelson officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2524. Visitation prior to service will be from 10 am to 10:30 am at Found and Sons Funeral Home, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
