Otis Hill Gore Sr.'s Obituary
Otis Hill Gore, Sr., 95, passed away December 27, 2022 at The Culpeper. He was born October 26, 1927, to the late Albert Byrd Gore and Neda Glenn Corbin Gore in Madison County, VA.
Otis is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ella Jenkins Gore; children, Barbara Gore Belcher (Tony) and Otis Hill Gore, Jr. (Mike); brothers, Everett Milton Gore, Ray S. Gore (Margaret), and Loyd Winfrey Gore; sisters, Christine Corbin and Linda R. Bazzle (William).
Additional survivors include brother in law, Sam Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, Otis is preceded in death by his brothers, Albert Garland Gore (Frances), Carlton "Mickey'' Glenn Gore (Alice); sisters, Sylvia Norris (Thomas), Helen Hart (Harold), Olive Arline Rupard (Willard), Dorothy Jenkins, Mary Eunice Jenkins (Roy), Lois Jenkins (John); brother in law, Bernard Corbin; and sisters in law, Betty Lou Jenkins Gore and Edith Wade Clore Gore.
Otis was born and raised on a farm. He worked as a dairy farmer during his early life. Otis wanted to provide a better life for his family and chose to seek a job with the Virginia Department of Transportation. He enjoyed his years working there and the people he met. His passion in life was gardening and he prided himself on growing the largest tomatoes in the community. For many years Otis headed up the gardening section of the farm show. He loved working with young people and sharing his love of gardening. He was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church in Reva. Otis enjoyed gathering with family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
