To the Gatling family, I just this morning heard of Otis's passing when I went to Safeway and mentioned I hadn't seen him for awhile and they told me of his higher calling. I only knew Otis from our interaction at the store and found him to be a wonderful person and we shared a few laughs as we chatted about life in general and various events over the years. Otis and I are of the same generation with myself being a tad older. The world is better for men like Otis, his work effort, and outlook on life. Please accept mine and my wife's sincere condolences on your loss, but Heaven's gain.
To the Gatling family, I worked with Otis for many years at Mclane in the receiving department. I enjoyed our many talks, Otis was always quiet and respectful , always gave his best. I will miss seeing him, and talking with him. May he rest in peace. Your friend, Shannon Sale
To the Gatling Family, please accept my sincere condolences. Otis was a hard worker with a peaceful nature. I graduated a year after him and when I went to work at Southland he was there. I retired in 2019, Otis was still working, he was never wavering. He quietly followed his path in life, God gave him rest. Rest in peace my friend.

Otis and I were close friends from elementary through high school. We attended J J Wright, R. E. Lee Elementary, Spotsy Jr and Senior High.
He was a wonderful person and always was willing to help somone in need.
May God's grace that's sufficient, strengthen, sustain and bring comfort to his family.
