Omar Joseph Salam's Obituary
Omar Joseph Salam, 38, of Arlington passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
Omar was born October 22, 1973 in Stafford County. He graduated from Stafford High School and attended Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.
Omar was an accomplished musician and opera singer and performed at the Kennedy Center and the Metropolitan Opera House as well as several venues in Virginia. He had travelled overseas to perform in several operas. Music was his passion.
Omar was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Lee Rose and his father, Hassan Salam.
Omar is survived by two children, Arianna and Justin; a brother, Zane Thomas Salam and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
As an organ donor, Omar’s passing was able to bring a better quality of life to others.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Hull’s Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bland Campbell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Omar’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in his name to Hull’s Memorial Baptist Church, 420 Enon Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22406.
