Nick Nichols,Jr.'s Obituary
Talmage (Nick) Nichols, Jr., 80, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 at his home.
Nick retired from the United States Airforce as a TSgt after 20 years. He served a tour in Vietnam just prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the Free Mason Lodge # 1 in Alexandria and Chancellor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cassie Mae; two daughters, Tresia Merrick and her husband, Don of Hartwood and Sonia Knight and her husband, Duane of Fredericksburg; a son, James Nichols of Stafford County; three sisters, Fostina Pinson of Florida, Yvonne Nichols and Ruby Hicks, both of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Mike Nichols and Brandon and Nick Biggs, all of Fredericksburg and Nina Nichols of Woodbridge and one great granddaughter, Brooke Nichols of Woodbridge.
Nick’s family will receive friends Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Jack Marcom officiating.
A military funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the Ft. Myer Chapel in Arlington. Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, Nick’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Medi Home Health & Hospice, 3302 Bourbon Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
