Newton B. Crane was my Uncle and I loved him so much, He was the youngest of 11 children of Allie and Bettie Brown Crane. His dad was born in Jeffersonton and his mom was born in Lignum. Newton was a handsome man and worked many years at the Culpeper Auto Parts. He is kin to many people from around this area.
He was a great singer and sang many times at our family gatherings over the years. His favorite were George Jones and Marty Robbins, but he liked many others too. He went through boot camp at Paris Island in the Marine Corps. He was a proud Marine right up to his last breath!
The Crane family is grieving over his passing as you can imagine as he was the last one standing from those 11 children. His brothers that passed before him were Alfred, Stuart, William, Garnett, Kemper, and Ernest. Sisters were Gladys, Helen, Agnes, and Virginia.
