Michael Elwood Moore's Obituary
Michael Moore, 67, of Prince William County, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.
Michael loved the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, camping, and coaching youth basketball and softball. He also loved animals, especially his five dogs; and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Michael served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam, Tokyo and worked as a MP at Quantico Marine Base.
Michael was a loving father, son, husband, and grandfather.
Michael is survived by his son, Keith Moore (Nadine) of Spotsylvania County; sister, Paula Vickers (Jim) of Alexandria; brothers, Gary Moore and Dean Moore, both of Alexandria, and Chris Moore (Susan) of Fairfax County; two grandchildren, William and Genevieve Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Marie Moore.
Michael’s family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
