Martin William Egan's Obituary
Martin William Egan passed away at his residence, Sunday, January 25, 2026, surrounded by love and the memories of a life well lived. He was born on January 27, 1949, to the late William and Eleanor Egan in Alexandria, VA.
He was a devoted husband, proudly married for 56 years, and a loving family man who treasured every moment spent with those closest to him-especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Martin honorably served his country as a United States Navy veteran and remained committed to service throughout his life as a member of the American Legion. Following his military service, he built an accomplished career in the aerospace and defense industry, working for Lockheed Martin, formerly Martin Marietta, for over 30 years. Through dedication and expertise, he retired as a Senior Communications Engineer, a role that reflected his strong work ethic and technical skill. Above all else, Martin's greatest joy was his family. His quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Martin William Egan leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will continue through the lives of his family for generations to come.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Vicki J. Egan; his seven children, Timothy Patrick Egan, Mark Christopher Egan (Amanda), Paul Martin Egan, Matthew Francis Egan, Kevin Ryan Egan, Abbey Leigh Knoll (Phil) and Mary Elizabeth Daugherty (Fiancé, Michael Kelly); eleven grandchildren, Emily (Jalen), Miranda, Madeline, Ashley, Aishlynn, Kaitlyn, Aedan, Dalton, William, Gene and Grace; his siblings, James Egan, Jeanette Vorce (Byron), Richard Egan (Kathrine), Anne Cline (Roger), Patricia Haines (Fred), Margaret Rogers (James), Cecelia Dennis (T.J.), Claire Keena (George) and Susan Keane (Chris) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son-in-law, Steven L. Daugherty, II, his niece, Jual Harman, his nephew Brian Cline and his sister, Rose Marie Egan.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Edmondson St, Culpeper, VA.
