I met Ann on a visit with friends in VA. We had a lovely time telling stories about playing softball, camping, and traveling. I was amazed, enthralled and totally entertained by her stories and diverse (softball to directing theater) life experiences. We had just a few hours together, but Ann is a moment in my memories, forever.
Oh Ann, ya old bat… I hope you have all the chocolate milkshakes you can drink, I hope your shoulders work again, and I hope there’s something to it when people say that those you love that have passed are always with you. You brought SO much light to everyone’s life. I’ll miss hearing your stories about your life, petting your loyal toy cats, laughing at pictures, and laughing at your jokes. You made me feel seen and heard. You made me less scared of living, and less scared of dying. Now I only aim to do maybe 3/4ths of the things in my life that you have done in yours. I miss you. And I won’t ever stop missing you.
I met Ann through LOW Players. I think it was an instant feeling of having known her always. We shared a love of theatre and, heaven forbid, the same awful/wonderful/terrible sense of humor. We had such wonderful conversations - political ones lamenting how we disagreed with whatever was happening or whomever was not doing as WE thought they should.
She directed The Hallelujah Girls and I was so proud to be in that cast with her directing. What a great show and such a fun, wonderful cast, with her at its head.
She will be so missed. Her wonderful, quirky sense of humor and her wise, wise understanding of our world.
Ann, my dear, be at peace and now only smiles and huge laughs forever.

My aunt Little Ann was a rock after my Mom and Pops passed and all my life! From the vacations in VA Beach to the moment she passed she was there for me. I miss her presence and realized that she was a crutch for me as much as she enjoyed every time I saw her. I needed her way more than she needed me. I’m lost and numb that she is no longer here with us. I know the Lord was there to greet her and Mama,Pops and Mom where also. Love you Little Ann
I have so many fond memories of Ann, vacationing at her home in Virginia Beach listing to her many stories and life’s experiences. Christmas time was always the best so much fun and laughter. Ann was always very kind to me and my family to which I’m extremely grateful. Rest in peace until we meet again.
As a little girl I remember being very excited when my grandmother, Ike, would tell me that Ann and Jan were coming to Viewtown to visit. I remember that she was peculiar and different and her little girl alter ego, Perl, would bring jokes, fun and laughter. What a hoot!
She was also a faithful and loving niece to Ike for all of her life, and for that I'm grateful! Love you to the stars, Ann & Perl!
