Michael and Family,
I was very saddened to read of Lou Ellen's passing. She was such a beautiful lady. As Classmates our paths were very different. Even so as the years passed whenever she saw me in Belk, she would always speak, flash her famous smile and spend time catching up on things in each other's lives. She will be missed by all that knew her and the community she was dedicated to and deeply involved in. The Class of 1973 has lost a bright light much too soon. Michael and Fielding,
We are beyond saddened to hear this. Lou Ellen was such a beautiful and kind lady. We throughly enjoyed catching up over the years and seeing her at the end of the season parties, but our favorite memory was visiting in Corolla when you all graciously hosted us with a 1.5 year old! It takes a special hostess to open their home to a young couple with a toddler for the weekend! Lou Ellen was that special person, and we are grateful for the fond memories made together with our ski family. Please know we are here for you both and will continue to be as the seasons change. Praying you each can find peace in the days ahead, and sending you all our love. May your memories of her shine bright and carry your through.

Michael / Fielding,
… it is with sadness and joy that we send this message. We are sad with the loss of Lou Ellen and yet filled with joy that we knew her. We are sad she is no longer with us and yet we see joy with the time we all had with her. We are sad for yesterday and yet filled with joy for tomorrow. Hey Mike - I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm also sorry that we cannot be there to pray with you and share a hug so this virtual prayer and hug will have to do for now. Lou Ellen was a ray of sunshine! Full of life, upbeat, friendly, and a very caring person. I so enjoyed her at Belk. She was of the sweetest people who I had a pleasure to no and work with. Always smiling and boy could she get customers to sign up with us!! She was a absolute joy. After Belk closed their doors, at my new job, she would drop by. She would say I wanted to say hi !! We would chat for a bit and she would be waiting for Michael so they can have lunch together. Some days would be just her and some days would be her and Patsy out shopping. Somehow and someway I always try to check up on her and let her know I was thinking of her. Several months back, I got to see her at therapy. I was also there to be seen and we ran into each other we sst and chat and it was nice to do that and we had did that a several times during our therapy visits at Powell's. I well treasure our friendship and the good times we had and the memories we shared. I still have her voice on my phone when her mom passed away and she thanked me for everything and told me how much she thought of me and that I will hold in my heart forever. Michael and Fielding and family my condolences and deepest sympathy is with you. I know she adored Michael and Fielding. She talked about them all the time. You could see the happiness in her eyes. She lit up.
Rip my dear friend and you will be missed but not forgotten.
