Lewis Richard Hawkins, 84, of Culpeper passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Countryside Assisted Living in Pratts, VA. He was born June 3, 1934 in Culpeper County, one of two children born to the late John Richard and Janie Yanc Read Obituary
We will always remember the many visits Lewis and Ruby made to Ohio, to visit Ben and Ada Compton. The good stories and laughter made their visit special.
We looked forward to the side trips and shopping adventures. The gym set and tractor
was a challenge getting it to Virginia. The relationship between our families was so special. Lewis and Ruby will never be forgotten. His loss is bitter sweet.

I remember as children Pam and I would wait to see who wore the wildest tie to church on Sunday, Lewis or Clinton Creel (my dad)! He was a good man.
Thoughts and Prayers go out to the family. Always enjoyed the times we stopped to visit when we were in Culpeper Family of Raymond & Bonetta Compton - Newark, OHio
Lewis , Rubylee and kids would come out to Ohio to visit my parents Ben and Ada Compton.
What a great time we had but the real reason was all the shopping at many stores , the bargains they would find would fill there car full on the return trip to Virginia.
We had a lot of fun with the Hawkins family over the years and a lot of great food .
Lewis was a kind man with a good heart who would help you a long with listening and advice.
Lewis will be missed even though he is with the love of his life Rubylee and at rest .
