I enjoyed working with Lake for 25 years at Northern Neck Distributing. He was a very nice man who had a great sense of humor. I especially enjoyed riding with him on his route and the conversations we had! Rest in Peace, Lake.

I remember Lake as the lead mechanic for the Cox/Wood/Goodman racing team. I saw him every Saturday during the early 70's when he took his lunch break at the Rt. 3 Sunoco gas station, where I worked. He was always friendly and smiling; a good man who will be missed by many!!
Lake and his family has always been a major part of our lives. Since our teenage years we literally grew up together. Michael and I have always regarded each other as brothers, and Michelle as his sister. Lake had such a great sense of humor and had tremendous love for his 4-footed family. He could fix just about any mechanical device and was glad to help with anything. He loved cucumber sandwiches and cookies. He welcomed all and always had a burly greeting and jovial charm as he would share a comical story and leave you with a smile. Our children, Rachel and Chris, have always had great love for their Grandpa Lake, Grandma Marge and Uncle Michael. Our family treasures all the wonderful times celebrating holidays and just enjoying special times together. Lake is greatly missed along with Marge his wonderful wife. Michael, our brother, our hearts go out to you.
All things must pass and just by knowing him has made a better day.

Michael I am so very sorry for your loss. Although your Dad is at peace with your Mom now, I know you will miss him terribly here. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. May your precious memories bring you comfort.
I could not have asked for a better father, teacher, confidant and perhaps most importantly of all best friend than this incredible man. My parents were both stronger in every way than I could ever imagine being. I simply could not have loved them more. I will not say rest in peace here because I want them both to now go together and have all that fun they had missed out on in their later lives. And my personal message to them: "Dance, laugh and love until we a team again knowing that I will be loving as well as missing you until that day."
I never saw Lake when he wasn't happy and smiling!! I am sorry for your loss!!!
Lake taught me so much growing up as a kid many years ago. So much of it I still remember and carry with me today. He was a great man and will truly be missed. Mike my thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue on.
