Lecie Atkins Leake's Obituary
Lecie Atkins, Leake, 92, of Sperryville died Monday, March 26, 2012 at Warren Memorial Hospital. She was born March 1, 1920 in Sperryville to the late Herbert and Lena Atkins.
Mrs. Leake was a lifelong resident of Sperryville and a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church and Thornton’s Gap Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by two children, Linda Kline of Sperryville and Steve Leake of Etlan, five grandchildren, Jennifer Deal of Sperryville, Crystal Smith of Sperryville, Melissa Darr of Luray, R.T. Leake of Etlan and Scott Kline of Centreville, and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Leake, two sisters, Lucille and Helen Atkins, and two brothers, Charles and Cecil Atkins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30, at 1 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jon Heddleston officiating.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 233, Sperryville, VA 22740 &/or Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad, 12 Main St., Sperryville, VA 22740.
