Lawrence Francis Corbin's Obituary
Lawrence Francis Corbin, 94, of Culpeper, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. He was born to the late Francis Lawrence Corbin and Evelyn Monacelli Corbin on July 31, 1931, in Providence, Rhode Island.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished his family deeply. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department and was proud of his decades-long career at Pentagon Federal Credit Union. He loved taking his family camping to Myrtle Beach every summer. After retirement, his favorite pastime was sitting on the front porch, holding hands and drinking lemonade with the love of his life, Iris.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Iris Van Ness Corbin, whom he adored, especially her beautiful red hair and green eyes.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Marcie and Sharon; his grandchildren, Amanda, and Victoria; several great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jeanne Marie Hamil, who will continue to carry his memory forward.
He will be remembered for his strength, devotion to family, service to his country, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery. Honors will be provided by the Culpeper VFW.
