Laura Lillard Gillison's Obituary
Laura Lillard Gillison, 87, of Reva passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Dogwood Village of Orange. She was born November 16, 1928 in Culpeper to the late Mary Washington Williams.
Mrs. Gillison was a member of Greater Faith Baptist Church. She cherished her family and the time spent with them and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by seven children, Martha A. Taylor and her husband, Faron of White Shop, Russell L. Gillison, Jr. of Reva, Charles E. Gillison and his wife, Connie of Virginia Beach, Rose M. Young of Culpeper, Harris F. Gillison of Warrenton, Sally Mae White and her husband, George, Sr. of Louisa and Donna R. Hall and her husband, Rodney of Beulaville, NC; one brother, Samuel L. Williams and his wife, Florence of Reva; 30 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lewis Gillison, Sr.; one son, John L. Gillison; and two brothers, Earl Williams and Otis Williams, Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Center, 15044 Ryland Chapel Rd., Rixeyville, VA .
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
