Fly high my friend. What had happened was.
You and Casey were the first ones to welcome me into the bar family world when I turned 21. You loved everyone and treated them as family so much so I followed you through all the establishments who were lucky to have you. Rick's became a huge favorite and you literally treated everyone as if they were family. The way you really cared for everyone, the jokes and just the love won't be forgotten. Rest in power and I know there was sooo many waiting for you as you entered. Never a goodbye...we will see ya later. ❤️
Dancing with Ken was always one of my favorite things because he had so much fun twirling me around. This was at one of his Christmas (Rick’s-Mas) parties at the building at his house.
The man that always came in chest high to give me a hug and make me laugh! We go way back and I can’t even imagine this world without you in it and now I have too. Until we meet again my friend, safe me a dance up there! 😘. RIP Kenny-Bo.
His kindness mostly. His voice, I loved listening to him sing his heart out. Ken’s legend lives on, I’m fortunate to have known such a beautiful soul.
One summer afternoon I was having dinner at Brock’s alone and in walked Ken. He gave me one of his big bear hugs and sat down next to me. While we were talking a moth landed in my drink. We both immediately went into action to try and save this tiny creature and its wet wings from drowning. After the rescue was complete Ken gave that moth a stern talking to and some serious life advice when he said look here moth “you can’t drink and fly at the same time” this of course turned into a deep philosophical conversation full of life lessons that only Ken Abel could pull off! We spent the rest of the evening together drinking Grandma and laughing about that poor little moth. I will never forget that night as long as I live. It is my absolute favorite memory with him.
There are so many memories, but the one he would want me to talk about is the night at the arcade in Chatham. I had been to a wedding earlier that day, and I may have drank a little too much. I slid out off the stool, stumbled, he caught me, and put me back on the stool. Before he put me back on the stool I wanted to hug him for saving me but I saw 3 of him!! I went in to hug him and it wasn't him and I almost fell, and once again he caught me!! They put me in the car and sent me home!! 😂 Good times were always had with Ken. You will be missed my friend.
