June Ann Roth Woody's Obituary
June Ann Roth Woody, 72, of Culpeper died Tuesday, May 2, 2016 at UVA Culpeper Hospital losing her fight against Leukemia caused by the chemotherapy treatments she received while successfully battling breast cancer in 2014-15. She was born June 9, 1943 in Pennsylvania to the late Donald and June Pleacher Roth.
She married the love of her life, Carroll, on June 1, 1963. Carroll and June spent many happy years raising their kids, playing golf and enjoying life. Mrs. Woody graduated from George Mason High School in Falls Church. She worked at Rosson-Troilo Motor Company for 31 years. She felt blessed to be included as part of the Troilo family. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Order of Daughter of Kings, the Close Knits Group who made afghans for veterans, the St. Stephens Prayer Shawl Ministry as well as a volunteer for the food closet. Mrs. Woody was known as a second mother to many kids in Culpeper County and will be great missed by all who knew her. She also volunteered for Culpeper Little League for many years.
She is survived by her two children, Richard Carroll Woody, II of Chesterfield and Patricia June Woody Myers and her husband, David of Culpeper; one brother, Donald Davis Roth, II of Locust Grove; and six grandchildren, Alexandra Michelle Woody, Richard Carroll Woody, III, Dennis Burnett Woody, Donald Louis Woody, Alisa June Myers and Grey David Myers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carroll Woody; and one brother, Richard Harrison Roth.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 115 N. East St., Culpeper, VA with Father Ben Shelton officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service.
