Dear Patty, David and Ricky,
When I would see your parents in church, to me they were a love story walking. I learned so much from June in her care of your Dad in his last years. We have also shared a joy in knitting together for wounded veterans and in making prayer shawls at church. Did you know she has helped our Close Knits group but together over 10,000 afghans for our wounded returning servicemen and women over the last ten years~amazing grace and never-idle fingers. And, of course, meeting you all has been such a wonderful connection for me to June~her wonderful family of whom she was so very proud and to whom she was so dedicated. Finally, as you know, June chose to become a Daughter of the King~something I've known she has been all along! There is a hole in my heart due to missing my sister in Christ and her presence in my life and every Wednesday in our Centering Prayer group and at Holy Eucharist. As she would walk by the place where Carroll's ashes were interred at St. Stephen's, she would always sprinkle some flower petals over his spot~when June finally rests at peace next to her dear Carroll, I will be sure the petals continue. June was a genuine friend, an accepting and tolerant woman, and a constant source of the "inside line" to what is "really happening" in Culpeper. She was the most well-connected lady I have met here and always helpful, honest, and precious to my heart. Did you know her first and last gracious act of service in DOK was to order and donate 100 crosses for Daughters of the King to give out to ladies this coming Sunday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church for Mother's Day. I will save a cross for each of you.
With love for His sake
