Judith Patton McKee's Obituary
Judith McKee, 81, of Mineral passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Sunrise Senior Living of Richmond.
Judy dedicated her life to others, as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and as a registered nurse for over 20 years. In her downtime, she enjoyed painting and needlework. Her family will always cherish their personal collections she lovingly made and gave them over the years.
Judy was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Spotsylvania Chapter), the Belmont Club of Woman, and a dedicated parishioner of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Orange, VA; as well as St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Springfield, VA, prior, for over 30 years.
Judy loved to spend time with her family, especially camping and at the beach-Myrtle Beach was a favorite, traveling and cruising with Walter and close friends, and other memorable vacations. In recent years, Judy’s love of her family and its roots, she developed a passion in studying and researching her family genealogy.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Walter; five children, Thomas W. McKee (Susan), James J. McKee, Diane E. Glauber (Peter), Lori M. Taylor (Stephen), and Lynn M. Van Horn (Alvin); twelve grandchildren, Melanie, Kevin (Lauren), Michele, Patrick, Kristine, Daniel (Michelle), Corinne, Kimberly, Jordan, Ryan, Jackson, and Luke; and one great-grandchild, Phillip.
Preceded to our Lord were her loving parents, Julian and Madeline Patton.
Judy’s family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 and from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in Mineral. A reception will follow at the Belmont Community Center, 7124 Belmont Road, Mineral, VA.
