Joseph A. Sroka's Obituary
Joseph A. Sroka, 51, of Culpeper passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1965 in Amherst, OH to the late Kenneth and Dolores (nee Sadlowski) Sroka.
Mr. Sroka was employed at Booz Allen Hamilton for 10 years and was cofounder of Zygote Press in Cleveland, OH. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Master’s degree from West Governors University. He was a diehard Cleveland sports fan and an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Christine Sroka; one son, Ian Sroka; and six siblings, Robert Sroka and his wife, Sue of Bay Village, OH, Sheila Tippie and her husband, Bill of Eden Prairie, MN, John Sroka and his wife, Kathy of Worthington, OH, Anita Botamer of Shakopee, MN, K.C. Sroka and his wife, Jenny of Vermilion, OH, and Paul Sroka of Columbus, OH.
Additional survivors include his mother-in-law, Joyce Pisegna of Amherst, OH; father-in-law, James Pisegna and his wife, Tricia of Amherst, OH; three sisters-in-law, Angel Domin and her husband, Brett of Amherst, OH, Sophia Pisegna of Amherst, OH, and Lauren Pisegna of Amherst, OH; brother-in-law, James Pisegna of Lorain, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Brad Hales officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Amherst VFW Post 1662, 165 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ian Sroka Benefit Memorial Fund c/o Wells Fargo.
