Johnnie M. Walker's Obituary
Johnnie Moses Walker, 80, of Remington, VA, departed this life on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at home. He was born on April 3, 1946, in Manning, SC, to the late Johnnie and Julia Walker.
Johnnie retired from Buffalo China, where he displayed his gift as one who made excellent china. After relocating to Culpeper, Virginia, he became a street sanitation worker. Johnnie accepted Christ as his personal savior early in life. He really loved the Lord and was not ashamed of sharing his testimonies on God’s behalf. He continued on his Christian journey and became a Deacon on March 22, 2009. Johnnie was a devoted sports fan, and he enjoyed watching wrestling with his daughter, fishing, bowling, and he really loved landscaping. He loved people in general and especially his family. He really enjoyed family gatherings and holidays.
He is survived by his loving and adorable wife, Rosie, of forty-three years; his only spoiled daughter, Juanita, and a forever son-in-law, Elder Michael Lewis, Sr.; his sons, Patrick, Jessie, Michael, Gene, Andre, and Gregory; grandchildren, Darnell, La’Tisha (Ron), Michael, Jr.; a host of other grandchildren; great-grandson, Deion, who was his baby, Royalty, De’Onna and De’Shay; two brothers, Charles and Lee. He also had one God-daughter, Tanisha Dacosta; one God-son, Andre Walker, Jr.; three brothers-in-law, Luther, Herman, and Purcell; one sister-in-law, Mary; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Johnnie is preceded in death by his sister, Lillie, and one great-grandchild, Divine.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, with Elder Michael Lewis, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
