There are too many memories I can’t think of quite yet. My first memory is when we all went to his house for a crab feast. He won our hearts! It’s kinda easy when blue crab is involved. Over the years he fought hard through my stubbornness to earn the title Dad. After all these years he is the only Dad I have ever had and ever wanted. He stepped in and stepped up as I say. No matter how hard I pushed he pushed back. He wanted the best for me, my mom and my sister. He gave us the best life we could have ever dreamed. I tell mom daily, “you picked the best dad in the world for us”. She did! No matter what he was doing he would always offer to show us how to do it too. He showed me how to rebuild an engine and transmission on a 1988 and a half Pontiac grand am. He taught me how to drive, he taught me how to cook corned beef hash, he taught me how to change a tire, check the oil (which I’m sorry to say I rarely do). So many life lessons I’ve learned from him. One memory is when he helped me build a crystal powered radio for a science project. We found it decades later and found out it still worked!!! Seeing him with my sister was magical. He would teach her things and she taught him things. They had a special way of communicating that no one else understood. Watching him and my brother geek out on their sci fi shows. Watching him goof around with mom. Where to even begin and where to even end. I know he’s always looking down on us and he’s probably laughing at me out side with my shovel trying to break all this ice and mom out there with her pick axe. Dad you will always be with us in our hearts. And guess what, mom said you were right about the toilet thing. Wink wink.
