John Kishman's Obituary
John Kishman, age 91, passed away on the morning of Sunday, October 9, 2011
after a short illness.
A resident of Virginia Beach for over 50 years he relocated to Northern Virginia in 2008 after recovering from a short illness. He was a resident of the Emeritus at Lake Ridge in Woodbridge, upon his passing.
John was born in Solvay, New York, he grew up there and joined the Navy after graduating from Solvay High School in the summer of 1941. During the War he flew a crew chief with VP-209 in both the Atlantic and Pacific. In the late 1945 he became one of the first person’s qualified to service Jet Engines in the US Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1963 and moved to GE Aircrafts Engines where he worked for another 20 years.
He is survived by a son, John Bell Kishman of Fairfax, Virginia.
Other survivors include John’s sister, Marian Kishman Klinetop and numerous nieces and cousins.
Memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011
from 1:00-3:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM at Found and Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109. Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 12:00 PM at St. John’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, 5987 Richmond Road, Warsaw, VA 22572.
