John Howard Garber Jr.'s Obituary
John Howard Garber, Jr., 95 of Jeffersonton, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Dutch Haven Assisted Living in Maurertown, VA. He was born June 29, 1926 in Hampton, VA to the late John and Ammie Garber.
John is survived by three sons, John H. “Jack” Garber, III (Wendy Swenson), Donald P. “Don” Garber (Lisa) and Charles D. “Chip” Garber (Wendy); twelve grandchildren, Gwynneth Schell (Peter), Benjamin Garber, Aubree Eastman (Jack), Rebecca Rupnarine (Dominic), Joshua Garber, Daniel Garber, Erin Garber, Tim Swenson, Sacha Forgorston (Eric), Stacey Roussel (Denis), Lacy John (Keston), and Lindsay Frye (Phil); ten great-grandchildren; Moseley, Wallace, Eleanor, Isabelle, Gregory, Jack, Emma, Grace, Zachary, and Lark; and one brother, Paul R. Garber.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Garber; and three sisters, Mary Frances Robbins, Virginia Wood and Martha Little.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 4160 Rixeyville Rd, Jeffersonton, VA with Rev. Tom Hayes officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in John’s honor to the Friends of Culpeper County Library, 271 Southgate Shopping Center, Culpeper, VA 22701.
