John Palmer Eick's Obituary
John Palmer Eick, age 57 passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. John was born August 21, 1960 to late George Eick and Carlin Palmer Eick in Sanford, Florida.
John married the love of his life, Teresa, 30 years ago. He worked at SWIFT as a manager and has been with the company for 32 years. John had the skill of being able to make everyone he came in contact with laugh and in return everyone fell in love with him. He was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, former leader of the Boy Scouts, little league baseball, and youth soccer. He loved to have a night out bowling at Mountain Run Bowling Center with family and friends. He also enjoyed Beekeeping, the beach in Florida, and helping at Stone Hearth Christmas Tree Farm for many years. John volunteered with the Food Closet including the annual Turkey Drive. He was also a huge advocate for epilepsy and an avid blood donor. Upon his death, he was able to be a Life Net Donor for tissue.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children; Sean-Michael Eick, Samantha Eick, Zachary Eick, and Earl Eick all of Culpeper, VA, his sister; Sandra Robinson and her husband Bruce of Sarasota, FL; his beloved dog; Schnitzel, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Father Benson Shelton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia, PO Box 8800754 UVA Health Sciences Center, Charlottesville, VA 22908.
