Janet's love for her family was always so obvious. I remember visiting with mama and daddy when her and Ronnie lived in townhouses in town of Culpeper. Leslie was a baby ina bassinet. I always liked visits when they lived in old house near Brandy. I think Ronnie had a Jeep Wrangler and took some of us kids for a ride through the fields. I went to that house quiet a few times when i got older for Janet to do my hair. She could do a great perm! After thay built their new house i went there too and remember her having her grandson Gage there with her. I just played and watched toy story as Janet did my hair. When my sister in law was looking for someone to give her a good perm i took her to Janet. I remember how she went back to get her cosmetology license. Knowing that and seeing how well she was doing with it, inspired me to go back at 40 and get my cosmetology license as well.
What a shock to hear of her death. But, what a wonderful family she has. Her love for them was apparent.

I will never forget how blessed we were to spend a week with my Janet and Ron in Septenber 2013. I had no idea it would be the last time I saw her. I was truly blessed to have Janet as one of my 4 Big Sisters. Also, I got to spend time with her In Allentown Pa. when I was about 19 and she was showing me how to can food. Janet was a very kind,compassionate and loving woman. Her passion was her Family and Photography. She always captured wildlife so beautifully. I will miss you my beloved dear Sister until we meet again. Praying for Gods peace,comfort and strength for all dealing with this shocking loss.

My condolences to all of Janet’s family. I know how much I will miss her and you will miss her even more. I only knew Janet via a computer but I knew her for several years and she was a good friend. Her beautiful photographs live on and will give pleasure but her kind spirit will stay with those of us who loved her for their rest of our lives. Her life mattered to so many of us. I think that is a great tribute to a wonderful lady.

I first met Janet in my husband's office and we shared a whimsical conversation about hair. This developed into regular appointments that were much more complicated than scissors, wax, and color. Because of Janet's depth , these dates really were therapy. Every six weeks we would pick up up where our last session had left us . We had both raised large families , who were growing their own families. There was never a void of interesting stories , or problems only grandmothers could solve .
I was around during Janet's initial interest in photography . Her hair studio and home illuminated her appreciation for God's creation. She tenderly raised fish in homemade coy ponds. Ingredients to feed her birds were often visible in her kitchen . New framed photos of birds , flowers, and other wonders transformed her work space.

I heard a message today about the hummingbird . The hummingbirds heart beats 1200 beats per minute... and must have sugar constantly to maintain life. Yet at night, this rate reduces to 35 beats per minute , reducing the sugar need. The hummingbird was designed that way : and is irreducibly complex. Isn't that a great pair of words! I think that Janet felt that way about each of the creations she photographed . We are also viewed as irreducibly complex by the God who created us. In fact he loved us so much that he sent his son to provide a way to give us eternal life : just by believing ! Thank you , Jesus!
