"Wildman" as you are affectionately known, I will never forget you. I loved sitting with you and Pvt. Cobb in the wee hours of the morning during our reunions, drinking our coffee (sometimes with a little stronger additive) and solving all the world's problems. What I remember most is your caring side when you would call me and lend some thoughtful, encouraging words concerning my son. You are a true Marine, a true American and a true friend and brother.
SEMPER FI, MY BROTHER

P.S. I guess just about now First Sargeant Rogers has you doing about fifty squat thrusts!

I met Wildman on June 9, 1964 at Marine Recruit Receiving MCRD San Diego. He was one of about 65 of us "kids" who were about to be made "men" in a long 16 weeks of Marine training. I located Jim about 32 years later. Since that time we have remained in contact on a regular basis. Jim was very patriotic to his country and a Marine through and through. He always said that he "bled green".
Our platoon reunions won't be the same without him but he will never be forgotten. Semper Fi, Wildman! Rest in peace!
Don Cobb
