James Owen Via's Obituary
James Owen Via, 91, of Culpeper died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1925 in Alexandria to the late Samuel and Lillian Thorp Via.
He is survived by his four children, Robert Lee Via and his wife, Lynn of Culpeper, Randall Harvey Via and his wife, Linda of Culpeper, Sandra Via Edwards of Culpeper and Jeanette Via Irish and her husband, Gordon of Ashburn; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Faith Via.
Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, Wendy Zendek and her husband, Dave of Lucketts, VA, Tina Jones and her husband, Scott of Virginia Beach, Tanya Shelton and her husband, Mat of Centreville, Travis Via and his wife, Karen of Fairfax, Denyell Kolikas and her husband, Jimbo of Culpeper, Jimmy Edwards, Daniel Edwards and his wife, Savannah of Harpers Ferry, WV, Kyle Irish of Ashburn and Mathew Irish of Ashburn; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Doucet Via; one son, James Ronald Via; one sister, Miriam Ray; and one brother, Alvin Via.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Denise Vogt officiating.
Interment will follow in National Memorial Park in Falls Church.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Irish, Mathew Irish, Daniel Edwards, Travis Via, Garrett Zendek and Austin Kolikas.
