Jacquelyn Reynolds Gilmore's Obituary
Jacquelyn Reynolds Gilmore, known to all as Jackie or BB, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2024, at the age of 89. Jackie was born to Doris Virginia Wayland and Charles William Reynolds on November 6, 1934, and raised in Culpeper County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Leckie (Wussy) Gilmore, Jr., her beloved son, David Leckie Gilmore, and sister, Carole Reynolds Thompson.
Jackie was mother ‘extraordinaire’ to her five children and a second mom to many others. She helped at the family business doing whatever was needed. She was a fun-loving grandmother, with mean “Super Mario Brothers” video skills, and later known as “Uber BB” when needed. She never met a blackjack table she didn’t like and was Tiger Woods’s number one fan.
A pillar of the community, Jackie, along with others, helped to establish the Helping Hands organization that laid the foundation to multiple non-profits in the Culpeper area. She was an active and lifetime member of Culpeper United Methodist Church. And above all …she did it Her Way.
She is survived by her children, Elaine Smiley (Tom), Jean Ascari (Craig), Chuck Gilmore (Julie), Alan Gilmore (Frankie), 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, from 6-8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel at 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Culpeper County Library, 271 Southgate Shopping Center, Culpeper, VA 22701.
